WELCOME TO CHRIST KING COLLEGE

~Light to the World~

Christ King College is, by popular acknowledgement, Sri Lanka's leading Roman Catholic School for boys & girls. Effectively unchallenged, it has occupied this position ever since it was founded in 1930 by Rev. Fr. W. Zacharius Dabrera O.M.I.

Over the years, the College has seen many changes Like all enduring institutions, it has often been obliged to adapt to the needs and constraints of the historical movement. Yet, in spite of inevitable changes, College has never deviated from lighting the world through the development of their intellect and personality with character, by providing a sound transformative education programme nurtured by Christian values within an environment that recognizes mutual respect and fairplay.

Sr. Principal's Message

Ninety-two years ago in the year 1930, Rev. Fr. Zacharius Dabrera OMI founded Christ King College. It was a small beginning as many beginnings are, with only four students and two staff members. Then onwards with the guidance of many dedicated persons, the school has made long strides in a journey that continues even today in moving toward the vision of its founder.

Among the many dedicated stalwarts, Rev. Sr. Pauline Perera stands out as the cornerstone in the development of the school. Rev. Sr. Priyantha Fernando followed the footsteps of Sr. Pauline in continuing the challenging journey, thus making Christ King College Pannipitiya one of the leading and sought-after schools in the suburbs of Colombo.

Christ King College believes in a holistic education that provides the students with opportunities to excel in all fields making them all round students fit for today’s society. Education is not only meant to develop the intellect of a person, rather it should provide the necessary tools and the means to foster the physical, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being of a person.

Today society yearns for good, noble, and decent people who are guided by a good value system. Many are running purely behind financial and material success thereby creating chaos in the country and the world at large. Corruption at every level, dishonesty, fraud, vice, etc. are rampant in today’s society.

Rectification and overhauling of our education system seem to be the only sustainable solution.

Christ King College at Pannipitiya was established by Rev. Fr. Zacharius Dabrera O.M.I as an English School in 1930. The school was a tremendous advantage to residents of Pannipitiya and its suburbs as they otherwise had to send children all the way to Colombo to be educated in the English Medium.
